Help!!!

OK i was getting gas today and right after i was leaving the parking lot my car acted really odd. I went to to gun it and she just started spuderin almost like the car had air bubbles in teh cas tank. she had no balls at all.

The engine has never acted this way before and has never had 1 single problem.

Can this be a bad plug or distributor? just feels like its missing but revs up fine

This has happened to me twice this summer! Bad gas! A mechanic tried to tell mne i needed my fuel pump removed, my fuel filter replaced, and all spark plugs AND WIRES and he had to take my gas tank off to get to that stuff! I got some cool hook ups so i topld the guy not to touch the car before i call him. He did it anyway and took all that stuff off! (see how being a chick can suck?)

Told me it would be 1500.00! BS! All I had to do was flush the system, new plugs, and use 89 gas instead of 87.

Sorry you're going thru that! When it happened again i didn't do all that, didn't have to cuz it wasn't as bad but it's still not acting right. We also sprayed whatchcallit in the filter. helped a lil.

OH IT better not be bad gas because the gas station will be fixing this.
What was in the fuel ,water?

The car runs fine a a normal speed ! it seems to be when i try to Floor it she starts to spudder.

What it felt like to me at 1st was my fuel bowl dump in to the engine.

I think water was the second problem, the 1st prob was the idiot who dropped the gas for the gas station dumped deisel in the unleaded cylindar underground!

Does it fill like it's mis-firing? It is a rumbled feeling right? And wants to bog when you hit the gas?

right it does bog down the car down when i hit the gas... Is there N E thing else it might be before i rip my car apart?

The options I was given at the time were bad gas, mis-firing plugs, and o2 sesor in the second body -- back by the cadilledic converter. Got diagnostics available to you?

I went to auto zone and bought some gas water remover to see if that works.
oh i got some octane increaser too.
they thought it was the gas too.

then on my way home i tried to gas it again and the darn thing died on me.
it choked so bad IT DIED!!! I am starting to think i have a bad vacuum hose
that is sucking to much air when i gas it. because the car runs fine when I am
driving at a norm speed.

If you are running a Holley Carb check for trash in the Fuel filters coming into to side of carb...If any little dirt gets in there it can make the floats act up..Just dont rule out trash in fuel system..not always water.

The gold looking part is filter in the carb itself...

also check fuel filter in-line with your system....

That was another option that I was given but it ended up not being that at all. When I first got my 2000 Camaro it acted like that too but it wouldn't even stay at a definate mph. I couldn't puch the gas hard at all and no matter how far I pushed it it only went as fast as it wanted to go and I had to just let it gain speed itself. I was worried it was the transmission so I took it to aamc or whatever it's called and they added some transmisssion fluid to it and it was fine after that. If I tried to gas it then it bogged and deaccelerated.

I hope it's not a headache for you. These are reasons why I have more than 1 car! I can't standed being any kind of way and I definately enjoy adding horsepower than actually having to fix something broken!

Get a can ob B12 Barrymans carb cleaner. Fire the car and spray it around the base of the carb, linkage, and a shot where the vac goes into the brake booster. If you have a vac leak it'll rev up a little when the B12 hits it. Check and make sure you haven't lost torque on the carb bolts, sometimes those thick gaskets will squash over time and cause a vac leak under the carb

faintthud OK i just got back. I am one tooth short now =(..

I did some work to the car today.
So far I have chanced all the vacuum lines ,and fuel filters.
The car seems to be running better ,but still not as strong as it should.
She Still gasps abit but atleast it is not trying to stall out on me.

She runs perfect 0-70 if i don't gun it. I Think it is the crapy holly carb .. i should smash that thing.... I hate hollys. could just be because I don't know crap about them lol....

well it started acting up again. tried to take my little girl to art class ,and it pooped out on me again. it died 20 sec form the house. Now maybe its getting to much gas because the vacuum hoses were lossing air? I hope Kenny can make it lol... its ticking me off

It sounds like you have trash in the needle and seat. This will make the car load up and die. Try taking the needle and seat out and clean it. Remember to re-set your float level. A Holley carb is a easy carb to work on. You may also want to remove the fuel bowls and clean them so you do not get anymore trash in the needle and seat.shiftin
