Put my Z in the body shop 12/11, as I hit a deer. Well, I ordered aftermarket hood, ground effects plus the repair stuff, fender , front end, lights etc. plus painting it. Originally told about 5 or 6 days. Then it went to about 10 days. then holidays come in, now it looks like prob jan 5th. before it will be out. Had a road trip planned this week , not gonna happen. But, on the real side of it is, they are doing a jam up job on it, sanding, filling, sanding, gel coat , sand some more, primer, block sand again. Goes into paint booth (hopefully) tuesday/wednesday. Still got these TT2's sitting in the dining room. Ahh, one of these days tho.

HA! My 97 Z has been in the shop for 2 months. First the distributor went out and no one new what was wrong with it. Now its getting the auto tranny swapped out for a 6 speed.

My 71, bought it from a "friend". We agreed, that since I have no garage, the car was supposed to be ready for the road. I let him off the hook as far as the interior. On his end of the deal, he rushed through it, didn't finish it, over charged me, and now 4 years later, my car is still not finished ($$$/time).
To want to choke someone, would be putting it mildly!

All in all, I'm in pretty good shape tho. It will end up how I want it, and I won't have things getting slapped together, so I have to deal with hidden problems later.

yeh thats what I said to my wife. Its not like I have to have it, so really its no hurry. If I git on their A$$, mite just make 'em mad and rush the job. I would prefer to let them take their time, then they can't comeback and say " well, you rushed us". Its all good, just anxious to see it all together. Maybe it will look good enuff to at least park in the same lot as some I've seen on here. Would like to find a LT1 motorhead to put on heads and a cam etc. nothing drastic , would like to hit about 400 rwhp, if you'all know of anyone I would appreciate it. And I hope you both get your cars as you want.

I know of someone up here with an LT1 crate, they were asking $1500, said that's what he had in it. Don't know for sure if they still have it, but I could check.

I'm headed off again in 2 weeks to work. Will be back in a couple months, will be interested then in doing something. Gotta make some money. Thanx. me not being a mechanic, I would need someone to do their magic on it.
