Nick and I have had conversations about doing a cruise in the mountains. I would like to maybe try and get one organized about the end of Febuary, If any of you would like to do this post up and give us your thoughts.

Sounds good so far ...weather would be the big factor in this

Weather could definately a factor, through Feb. and even March, sometimes as late as mid April.

Good idea, but do I have to leave the mountains to meet, then drive back??? LOL

If the weather holds up could be a good thing. Jim, maybe you could check on a route seeing how you are already there.:)

Blairsville, Hiawassee, Helen, Clayton...or we could say the NE corner of Georgia.

How long a ride do you want to make it? In terms of road time

Then again we could just hang out at my place in Alpharetta and tell lies and drink orange sodas!

I was thinking along the line of about 2 to 2.5 hours each way with a stop for food. There was a phone conversation with the suggestion of planning it maybe towards the end April. I'll get out and map a route to take and then we can go from there.:)

Great idea. Suggested meet up spot could be at the top end of GA 400 near the cut off to Dahlonega. Several new shopping centers with big parking lots are sprouting up in area. Just an idea. Agree that Jim as our resident "mountain man" should investigate further. As far as time/miles, maybe meet up 10 to 11 am, go north 1 to 2 hours, have lunch/park, then go another 2 hours heading south. Something like that. Or cut it in half and reduce time/milage. Wheater is main issue. Day of week, also.

Sounds like a great idea. I like the idea of 1-2 hours then stopping for lunch/just to chill and chat then taking another 1-2 hours. Late April should be great; the rains should be about over then. We might want to round up walkie talkies. I have 2 with 5 mile range I'll contribute.

And what makes you think that? SS stands for super stock racing as in drag, and Z/28 stands for trans am series as in racing.

Dont know about that Dean. My SS stands for Super Sport. And your Z-28 stands for Zero(and)28 (0-28), your record against me, lol, lol! Plus I know the North GA mountain roads pretty good.

LOL, think I'll set pace in my Silverado...then we won't have to worry about rescue missions, down the side of a mountain!
