Well I just bought my Camaro this is about the third one of these I have owned in my life. This one has a new 350 in it and it has the drips here and there. The one that is ****ing me off the most seems to be on the passenger side on top of the bell housing up near the intake. The drivers side is bone dry back there but the passenger side has it running down the egde of the block just up on top of the ledge where it joins the bell housing. It runs down and drips on the headers and then on the garage floor just on that one side. I got back there as much as I could today and see a little on the chrome bracket holding the distributer down. It looks like it might be the result of the bracket holding down the distributer as one side of this bracket is off the lip on the distributer looks like wrong bracket was used. So I got a new chrome bracket today but have not put it on yet. The oil pressure line is on the drivers side and bone dry. I'm also seeing a little build up on the front of motor where the oil pan and timing chain cover all meet at the block. A little drip here on both sides. I guess someone just messed than gasket up. Any ideas or feedback I would love to hear from you guys on it. Looking like the timing chain cover needs removed and cleaned up and done over again. Whats strange is this engine has black gasket sealer on the intake and oil pan and then clear silicone on the timing chain cover. Like who built this might have ran out of the good stuff. The engine specs are listed under my signature. Could it be built wrong and this called blow back? Got me worried I paid a chunk for this car. It runs great just acting like a Harley and marking it's territory.

I think you are on the right track with the intake gasket leak. If it were a bit more outboard I would think valve cover.

Agreed, sounds like they used the rear intake gasket across the back and it squeezed out when torqued. These should be thrown away and a good 1/4 inch thick bead of silicone used.
