The rods on the left are before, and the right ones are after cleaning with a dremel and soft wire wheel. The metering rods also got polished.

Very nice Kenny. Now I have to get a new tank and the other stuff that goes with it. With new plugs and wires this car should run real good.
Thanks for doing it.

Hey Kenny,
You would'nt have happend to save a sample of the dirt/sand stuff that was in it? Kind of curious. I wonder if vandalism was a factor some time ago.

I'm sending the old filter along with it, pull the rubber check valve out of it and you'll see the same stuff that was in the bowl. You'll need to get a new filter for it.

Man you got to think of all possibillities. But being in the filter also makes me think of the tank! I would get a new filter and also put a inline glass one so you can see whats in there. Just my opinion.

Sand or Sugar in the gas tank is a old time prank. Will really screw your car up. I was just throwing that out there. Could just be from the tank breaking down, or as simple as a nasty air filter that was not seating correctly on the carb or a filter so dirty that it was sucking in dirt particles. My luck after buying all this is it was just a poorly seated air filter and the tank replacement was for nothing. Oh well, at least I know it will all be new.

Great job on the carb! Should make a world of difference.
have you thought about flushing the tank and coating it with summit's tank coat??? Just a thought as I saw the tank cleaner and coating in a new catalog today. Might be cheaper than a new tank.

Don't forget, lower it down easy cause above the tank is where the original build sheet should be

Also look under the rear seat bottoms in the rear. They have put them there as well as on top of the tank..

The bad thing about that is that's the 1st place mice like to make their nests if a camaro sits for awhile.:(
